My most recent body of work consists of wood assemblages.
I paint pieces of wood individually often leaving the wood grain to show through in some areas. Once painted, the pieces are moved around like a puzzle and rearranged until I arrive at a composition that speaks to me. The aim is to create a multi-planed landscape. I enjoy the feel, the smell and the tactile quality of the wood and naturally the wood grain. Incorporating wood into my art enables me to feel connected to the earth .
